First time at Guzzardo’s. I had the large Prime Rib, and the wife Villa Special! Both was amazing. Wendy was our waitress she was lots of fun, and a very good waitress! Thanks for a great evening!
So three of us went on a Saturday @ 6:00 w/reservations and still had a twenty minute wait. With that said it is a very, very busy place.
We all three had the French Onion soup for starters, it was luke warm and seemed to be the bottom of the barrel (and old) so much so, it gave us the "hope we don't get sick feeling". My friend got the prime rib, and I have had it here before as it is the Fri & Sat special. If you want it anymore done than rare they throw the thing on the grill, let me repeat "they throw the thing on the grill" . As most places will put it in a hot au jus bath. It does bad things to it and I don't think they are using the greatest cuts in the first place.
The wife and I both had the tenderloin sandwich. They were pretty tasty, lightly battered and crunchy. Could've used some seasoning but were still good and perfectly cooked. I would've liked them a bit thicker and on a toasted bun, but certainly not a deal breaker.
The staff has always been wonderful here and it is group friendly. They have a wonderful menu and I would recommend.
While traveling Route 66, this location was referred to us at one of the visitor centers. It is kinda tucked away in a unusual space behind a arcade. We were first seated outside, but quickly chose to go inside due to a couple of loud and obnoxious young men with some very foul language! We chose the outside because the dining area is upstairs and my wife doesn't do well with stairs. Seeing that it was a nice evening, we would have much more preferred the outside dining... When we mentioned it to the server, she just commented "Yea, they have been here for a while".
We ordered a triple appetizer, thinking it would be 3 small portions... it was NOT! It was 3 huge appetizers!! They were all delicious!! Fried Ravioli, Fried Mushrooms and Mega cheesy fries (I forget the actual name).
We chose pizza for our meal, since we like to try pizza from different areas when traveling. Once again, we over ordered... The large was not just large, but HUGE! It was hot and very good!! No way we could eat it all.
We were there near closing time, but never felt rushed in any way. Our server, and the servers around us, were all very friendly and helpful.
Our only complaint was having to climb the stairs.
We were apprehensive of this small town as we made our way from Michigan back home to Dallas - but it’s so cute and quaint. And this restaurant is too. Great service - Wendy felt like our best friend by the time we left. The food was delicious - the prime rib and coconut shrimp were some of the best we’ve ever had! And the atmosphere was cool and original - not the cookie cutter you get with chains. We also loved that we could walk next door, buy a bottle of wine, and bring it back to the restaurant to enjoy while we ate. Such a fun experience and will recommend it to anyone driving through or
visiting Lincoln!
It’s more of a fast food restaurant that’s very expensive. Not really Italian food but more of country fried Italian. We ordered meat and cheese ravioli and it came out like chicken fried chicken. Great atmosphere, thought.
So disappointing. When I walked in, it smelled amazing and was very charming in decor. I started with the French onion soup which was covered in croutons, which is ok I guess, but it was not hot so I sent it back. When it returned it was the same bowl that had been out in the oven, scorched the croutons which at that point had absorbed most of the soup. I ordered the lasagna, which came out entombed in cheese, like a shell. Underneath was a warm..not hot lasagna swimming in sauce. I am guessing this place must have been much better in the past.
Very interesting place tucked away behind an arcade. Food was outstanding and service was excellent. Chairs not super comfortable, but ok. Worth the trip. Prime rib was HUGE!
Excellent service with friendly staff. The food was absolutely delicious and I left very full (trust me I can eat). The atmosphere is very nice too with pleasant lighting, candles, and just your old school mom and pop-owned Italian restaurant vibe. 10/10 would come back
